Summer Bible Camp - August 10 - 14, 2015. Application forms are at the entrance of the Church and at the Parish Office. Please consider helping out! There is no cost to parishioners - just a lot of fun for our children learning about the Word of God and putting it into daily practice. Please turn your completed application forms into the Parish Office by July 31, 2015.

Summer Bulletins - This bulletin will be the last one for this month. Bulletins will be sporadic throughout August 2015. We will be back on a full time bulletin schedule once summer is over and activities start up again.

Father Byron will be away on vacation the month of August. There will be no daily Mass or Spanish Mass starting July 27, 2015, until the end of August. Father Ibach will celebrate the weekend Masses. He will hear confessions before and after Mass as necessary. In an emergency, please contact Father Ibach at 509-930-0214. He will also be available for baptisms, sick calls and funerals. Father Mitchel will be here to take Father Ibach’s place one weekend during August.

In Father Byron’s absence, the church will be open during the daytime hours for visits and prayer time before the Blessed Sacrament.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) - Our parish will hold the collection for CCHD this weekend. The programs funded by CCHD changed lives for the 46.2 million people living in poverty here in the United States. Your donation will empower local communities and strengthen families who are on the margins. People with disabilities will find affordable and supportive housing, men and women reentering society after incarceration will have the opportunity to learn new skills, and community agriculture projects will receive grants to become sustainable. Please help us continue this good work by supporting the collection for CCHD. See Bishop Tyson’s letter attached regarding this collection.

Thank you to all volunteers who maintain the cemetery grounds.

Altar Society Dues - Beginning the first weekend in June, the Altar Society will be reinstating the voluntary yearly dues from the ladies of the Parish to help with the cost of maintaining the Altar.  Envelopes will be provided on June 7, 2015.

Catholic Extension Grant - For the past three years, we have received $6,000 per year in grant money to be applied towards Clergy Health Insurance.  The Diocese has advised us there is a reduction in grant money available through Catholic Extension for the upcoming two years.  With this reduction Holy Trinity will be short $5,000 over the next two years.  Below is a breakdown of our yearly insurance costs for the present year, from June 2014 through June 2015:

        Clergy Health Insurance               $11,028
        Clergy Retirement Insurance       $  3,600
Clergy Long Term Insurance        $  1,020
        Religious Education Insurance     $       65
        Fire & Peril Insurance                    $  3,542
        Liability Insurance                          $  2,527
        Diocesanum Tax                             $  3,826

        TOTAL                                                                             $25,608

Total payments made through March 2015 (3rd Qtr)    $22,012
which includes $4,500 of the $6,000 grant for 2014-2015

Balance due by June 30, 2015                                            $  3,596

Next year the grant will only be $4,000 and the following year it will be $3,000.  Insurance costs as a general rule usually increase each year so this gap will more than likely widen.

A special breakfast will be served by the Knights of Columbus after this Sunday Mass in honor of the First Communicants and their families. All parishioners are invited to join in this special celebration.

CCD Picnic - The afternoon CCD classes will meet at the Parish Hall on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the regular time. The teachers and students will walk together to the nearby World War II Memorial Park for a picnic to celebrate the end of CCD classes for the year. They will return to the Hall at 3:30pm. You may pick up your children at the Hall at that time.

A special thank you to all the CCD teachers for volunteering their time and talent to instruct the children in the Catholic faith. You are appreciated! We look forward to seeing you again when classes begin in September.

2015 Confirmation - Bishop Tyson will be here for a Confirmation Mass on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 7:00pm with a reception following. Congratulations to Addie Enyeart who will be confirmed at this Mass.

Catholic Extension Grant - The Diocese of Yakima has informed Holy Trinity that there has been a cut in grant money available through Catholic Extension for the upcoming two years. Over the last three years, we have received $6,000 per year and the money was put towards the Clergy Health Insurance bill received from the Diocese (approx. $10,500-11,000 per year). We will only receive $4,000 this year and $3,000 next year, leaving us short $5,000 in grant money over the next two years. If you are able to contribute monies towards this shortage over and above your regular donation amount, it will be most appreciated. Please notate your check with a reference to “Insurance” or “Debt Reduction”. All debt reduction collection envelopes received over this past year have automatically been applied to this Diocesan debt.
